Story
Kara Vita was co-founded by Jennie
Halloran and Dermazone Solutions - the company which
owns the patents, the technology and the formulas to our
wonderful products. Together, they created Kara
Vita.
Jennie spent 25 years in direct selling. In 1975, she
started out as a door-to-door Avon Representative,
stayed with Avon for 14 years and then moved to
Tupperware. When she
completed her career with Tupperware, she had been
President of Tupperware Canada and Sr. VP and Managing
Director of Tupperware U.S.
In 1999, Jennie was asked by a company to search for
a high-quality skincare line to complement a product
they were going to market. She did extensive research on
skin care and the most up-to-date ingredients. She
looked at every skin care product in the retail market -
drug stores, health food stores and upscale department
stores. She traveled to labs in 4 states and personally
tried over 200 different skincare products. Several
months into the research, the company that originally
asked her to do this research ended the project, but
Jennie was so "hooked" on what she was finding, that she
kept going.
After 18 months of research, Jennie came to the
following conclusions:
- For women to really understand what they are
buying in terms of skin care would take months and
months of research - time that most women don't have.
- Much of the product available on the market
contains very little in the way of effective
ingredients and most of them DON'T do what they claim
they will do.
- To get REALLY effective skin care, she felt she
would have to go to a dermatologist or a very upscale
spa and pay between $300 and $400 for 6 to 8 products.
- It was at this point she became convinced that
someone needed to bring excellent skin care - product
that really does what it says it's going to do - to
women all across the country, and to make it available
at a price that was an exceptional value!
Several months later, a friend asked her to check out
a product line that was created in Clearwater, Florida .
Reluctant as she was to try yet another product line,
she agreed to do so. The minute she put it on her skin,
she knew it was different than anything she had tested
before. She knew she had a found a great product!
Within a week she met with the woman who created the
product - Deborah
Duffey, the President of Dermazone Solutions - and
they worked together for 2 years testing the product in
clinics and creating a business model that would lead to
Kara Vita.
In 2003, Jennie joined with Deborah and Karalyn
Schuchert - the owner of Dermazone Solutions - to
co-found Kara Vita, LLC. Their intent is to bring
exceptional skincare products to women at prices that
represent an exceptional value, and, at the same time,
provide a lucrative career opportunity for
women.
